Lately we have this routine at home that whenever one of us is going to perform prayer, we will tell Zal: “Zal, come on, let’s do ‘Allahu akbar’!”
I didn’t know since when that he started to understand that ‘Allahu akbar’ means doing prayer for him, but whenever we tell those words to him, he will take the prayer mat, ask us to set it up, and then he will imitate some prayer movements.
It’s so fun, warm, and bittersweet at the same time. My boy grows up so fast. A year ago, he was just a baby bouncing everywhere, and now he understands how to do prayer already.
How I wish time would stop or at least running slower.
