Passed my DFP Certification Exam, hooray!
Okay, perhaps this is not really a big of a deal, but I am pretty proud of myself. And this is one of my target for this year, so YAY!
Now, time to catch up on some sleep, zzzz.

Finish your bond first. Don’t try to run for it. Even though you can run now, Allah will ask for it in the Hereafter
That was Husband, sometime ago
One of the things that I admire the most from my Husband is how he always tries his best to keep his promises to anyone. You can be sure that once he promises something to you, he will fulfill it as best as he can.
Both of us were scholars when we were still undergraduates. Our scholarship requires us to work for the Singapore company for 6 years after we graduate. That sounds like a fair trade considering fully covered tuition fees, monthly stipend, and accommodation fee.
The thing is, 6 years is freaking long.
When we signed the contract, we didn’t think that it would feel THAT long. But as soon as we start working, we realized that to fulfill 6 years is … one hell of a sacrifice.
But of course, we know we have to do it no matter what. I would be lying if I never thought of just running away, like some of the other scholars do. But I am thankful for a constant reminder that is my Husband.
He just finished his bond this year, and now he’s just waiting for a formal letter. I, on the other hand, still have 2 more years to go. It doesn’t sound too scary, right? Two years is still acceptable, and I still want my second child to be born here anyway.
But then again,
I would be lying if I said I don’t hate people who run away from their responsibilities. I would be lying if I said I don’t look down upon them. I would be lying if I said I don’t despise what they choose.
To add more, if they’re just going to run away like that, I don’t think they deserve the scholarship at all. Like it or not, a scholarship is a contract. The government already did their part on sponsoring their study fully. And now when the government asks on your part, you are just going to run away like that?
Is that how you want to be seen by other country’s government? As someone who doesn’t know some manner and simply doesn’t know how to be grateful?
At times like this, my Husband’s word comforts me the most. Let Allah ask them about it in the Hereafter.
I seldom write about this, but a certain drama that I just finished watching tugs my heartstrings.
In that drama, the female lead ended up confessing her love to a very stoic boy instead of a boy who had stood up for her for the whole series. As a viewer myself, I felt disappointed seeing the ending because along the way, it didn’t feel like there’s a connection between the female and this stoic boy. Maybe it’s just a bad storytelling? I don’t know.
But then, something came to my mind.
A good friend of mine once said,
Love is all about timing.
And I can’t agree more on that because I also experienced the same thing few years ago. I had a very good and supportive guy friend who was always there whenever I needed ears to listen and encouragement to lift me up. And turned out, he had feelings for me as well.
But I ended up with another guy who didn’t even do all those things above. He was like the opposite of my friend. But I fell for him otherwise.
What’s wrong with that scenario? Wasn’t I suppose to end up with my supportive friend?
If only life is a predictable story (but yeah, that would be super boring).
Until now, I believe it’s all God’s plan. And I also believe it’s all about timing. When your heart knows that you’re ready to fall in love, it really matters who has the best timing to come into your life.
Back to the drama,
Yeah, perhaps we as viewers felt so cheated. In our perfect -and predictable- way of thinking, that girl MUST end up with the supportive guy! There’s no way it should be the other way around!
But hey, love is something mysterious. So many things we don’t know happening behind the scenes. And it’s all His plan.
So, conclusion?
The little guy just recovered from high fever – which turned out to be Roseola -few days ago. He looked like he’s a bit of bored at home, so we decided to bring him out for a little walk in the city.
He was not really in the mood, but he looked happier than at home. At Paragon, apparently, he felt healthy enough to join the crowd and played some mini cars.
Posing with Batman, “I am Zalman.”
“Look at me getting this thing rolling~”
“What are you looking at, Mama?”

After a few good minutes spent there, we headed to Es Teler 77 to grab some food – we missed Indonesian food!
While waiting for the food to come, Zal was busy playing with Husband.
Playing with Mama’s phone never gets old
And here’s Papa giving a smooch to Zal 🙂

Didn’t do many things during the weekend cause he’s still recovering, but whatever kind of weekend spent with family is always the best 🙂

Was browsing through photos in my phone and these ones from three months ago really warm my heart :’)
My makan series is just getting shorter and shorter lol. Since we only visited one restaurant this weekend, I thought about combining last week’s food and this week’s one. Voila!
Went to this restaurant several times as of now, and yet I haven’t written anything about it. Well, for our last visit, these are what we ordered.
Smashed Chicken with Green Chili Sambal – S$ 6.8 (excluding the rice)
Husband said this is just OK. And I agreed with him. The one we had at City Square’s Ayam Penyet was far more delicious.
Grilled Empal – S$ 7.8 (excluding the rice)
THIS ONE IS SO GOOD! The sweetness of the empal was so nice I regretted that I only ordered one plate of rice. If you ordered this, make sure you have at least two plates of rice!
This is a small stall at NEX, located just outside Fair Price Xtra at Level 3. We have ordered several flavors, but their Banana Choco and Peanut Butter remain our favorite!
It’s best if you eat it on the spot, cause the crispiness will be gone if you waited until you get home 😀
